Joseph Campbell Our Mentor

CT, AOA, DVSA… all started because of coming across Joseph Campbell (1904-1987).

If you are also “LPD” (see our Sonnet 37 piece) and were not privileged enough to be provided with your very own personal mentor, then you can’t go pass this fair dinkum dude.

Our favourite JC mentoring quotes:

• “Follow your bliss.”

• “The Fates draw the willing, and drag the reticent.”

• “Love your enemies for they are instruments of your Fate
Paraphrases one of his mentors – Nietzsche’s “Amor Fati” = Love your fate.
Ecce Homo: “…that one wants nothing to be different, not forward, not backward, not in all eternity. Not merely bear what is necessary, still less conceal it …but love it.”
If you could go back in a time machine and change a mishap it would unravel the whole thing, and spoil the mural of your particular vorstellung – his other mentor – Schopenhauer’s Apparent Intention in the Fate of the Individual.
